The **central bazaar of Sanandaj** has held an important place in the daily life of the city since ancient times. Its layout was designed as a large **rectangular complex**, differing from most traditional Iranian bazaars that typically follow a linear pattern. Inspired by the design of **Naqsh-e Jahan Square** in Isfahan, this bazaar extends across a broad rectangular area with various **caravanserais and courtyards** nestled within its central space.

Due to the construction of **Enqelab Street**, the bazaar was divided into two separate sections, now known as **Asef Bazaar** and **Sanandaji Bazaar**. Today, only **three of the original gateways** of this historic structure remain standing, serving as silent witnesses to its rich cultural past.
